Dr. Harvey Moscot, Vice President of MOSCOT, and Director of MOSCOT Eyecare, is a licensed Doctor of Optometry with over 20 years of clinical experience. Dr. Moscot graduated Magna cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Boston University, and received his Doctor of Optometry from The New England  College of Optometry, where he graduated as Beta Sigma Kappa Optometry honor student.

Dr. Moscot earned and maintains his licensure for both New York State and the State of Florida and he holds NY State Certification for Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents (phase 1 and 2), certification of Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease of National Board of Examiners in Optometry (Part 2 and Part 3) and certification from the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (Part 1). Dr. Moscot completed his internships at the South Boston Community Hospital and the Dorchester House Multidisciplinary Health Center in Massachusetts.

Dr. Moscot maintains the highest level of continuing education possible by attending Optometry conferences and seminars around the country and through ongoing training on the latest and most modern medical equipment. He also completed the Chief Executive Optometrist Program at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He was part of a select group of doctors chosen from around the United States to attend CIBA Vision’s “Providing Legendary Patient Care” program held in Florida.

Dr. Moscot joined the family business in 1986.

Today, as Director of MOSCOT Eyecare, Dr. Moscot oversees all aspects of MOSCOT Eyecare’s comprehensive, state of the art eye health care facility to ensure it is at the forefront of technology utilized to diagnose and treat medical eye conditions. Under his direction, MOSCOT Eyecare has grown into one of the most sophisticated private optometry groups in the country uniquely equipped to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical eye conditions, and is the first private optometry group in New York
City to utilize the newest version of the Spectral Domain Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) test for the earliest detection of glaucoma, diabetic retinal disease, macular degeneration and other retinal conditions.

In addition, Dr. Moscot continues to provide primary eye care with a specialty in the treatment of ocular allergies, dry eyes, Computer Vision Syndrome and specialty contact lens fittings, including Toric, Rigid Gas Permeable and Bifocal contact lenses. He also regularly treats and manages glaucoma patients, and co-manages treatment of retinal pathologies, cataracts, in addition to managing Laser Vision Correction patients with a select group of local ophthalmologists. He regularly performs contact lens work for film and theater and has a long list of celebrity patients.

Dr. Moscot serves on the Board of Directors for the Optometric Society, City of New York, and was recently selected by several ophthalmic drug companies to speak to his peers on “new to market” ocular medicines. Additionally, Dr. Moscot has served as a consultant to a Wall Street investment company regarding the contact lens industry and as a consultant for contact lens companies advising on the development of new contact lens technology.
 
In 2008, Dr. Moscot founded the MOSCOT Mobileyes Foundation – a charitable organization dedicated to providing free medical eye exams and vision screenings to New York City’s underserved populations. As Director of the Foundation, Dr. Moscot oversees the Foundation’s overall management and development in addition to regularly participating in the screenings, diagnosis and treatment of New Yorkers in need.

He is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Contact Lens and Cornea Section, the New York State Optometric Association and the Optometric Society, City of New York. Dr. Moscot is proficient in Spanish.
