The MANGITO is named after Great Aunt Gladys (Sol’s sister) – and while her name may not be sexy, her story most decidedly is. A natural globetrotter with wanderlust in her heart, Gladys bid adieu to Manhattan’s Lower East Side and found herself poolside in Miami where she met Cuban-born, Benno Correa, who bestowed upon her the nickname, MANGITO, Cuban slang meaning sexy, hot and fresh, became her husband and whisked her away to a happily ever after life of Cuba Libres and Conga dancing in Havana, Cuba.

MOSCOT unveils its Second Edition MOSCOT Titanium collection for Spring/Summer 2010. The German-made, Second Edition Titanium frames are constructed in two parts – the fronts, made of pure titanium and nickel-free, are strong, sturdy and hypoallergenic, and the frame temples, which are made of beta-titanium, a softer, more pliant material that can be easily adjusted for the perfect fit.
The MOSCOT Titanium collection translates the bold, unmistakable look of MOSCOT Originals into a slimmed down, lightweight silhouette – the same distinctive look and personality of the MOSOCT Originals, only a bit more understated.

The ZULU, originally launched in Black and Gold, will now be available April 2010 in Matte Silver with Grey Temple Tips in small and large frame sizes. The ZULU, is based on a classic 1940’s fighter pilot frame, and is named after an unconventional uncle within the MOSCOT family, named Uncle Zulu Pushkin (yes, that’s his real name), who was a runner for a famed New York bookie back in the day.
