Whats New

Check out this great spread in Tao Magazine — an ode to all things MOSCOT! Tao, a gorgeous magazine from Hong Kong, featured the newest frames from our MOSCOT Originals Collection, The TERRY (also from The MOSCOT Originals), and even a bit of our history! We're super flattered Tao dedicated a page to us, and we love what they do! Thanks Tao!

Take a peek at our most recent MOSCOT window at Observatory in London! Located on Muswell Hill Broadway, Observatory is situated in the heart of all the shopping action. This is in a very old part of London so a MOSCOT window is rather fitting! We just love Observatory and think they did a fantastic job! Cheers to the Observatory team!

Ah, Washington D.C., our Nation’s capital - the museums, the monuments, and now…MOSCOT. That’s right, America, we’ve arrived in the District! Classic and new favorites from our MOSCOT Originals Collection can be found at Federal, a great shop located at 2216 14th Street NW, in the super hip U Street neighborhood. With vintage detailing and a stock list of perennial favorites, MOSCOT is right at home in its new home. The state of our union just got a bit more fashionable.

For more photos and information about Federal, check out this piece on Refinery29.

The MOSCOT crew was all costumed up and rockin' out at last night's annual MOSCOT Halloween Party. Held at the MOSCOT Orchard Street Gallery and Music Space, our amazingly talented team did not disappoint - from inspired costumes and dance moves, to incredible musical performances by our in house band, The MOSCOT All Stars. And remarkably, our shops even opened up on time today! That's dedication. Happy Halloween, everyone!

If you happen to be walking down the Rue du Passage St. Georges in Bordeaux, France this week - first, lucky you! - second, you will likely find yourself transported right back to New York City. MOSCOT retail partner, Histoire d'y Voir, a fantastic optical shop in the heart of beautiful Bordeaux has created a stunning window display that perfectly captures the MOSCOT NYC shop experience - right down to the vintage accessories placed throughout the display. We could not have done it better! A giant thank you and Santè! to our friends!

It was a foggy, stormy night in NYC's Lower East Side on October 19th. Actually, the fog was coming from a machine inside the The MOSCOT Gallery and Music Space, and the storm was more like light rain -- definitely not enough to stop fans of French Horn Rebellion and Avan Lava to come and party it up with us in celebration of CMJ Music Marathon!

Avan Lava and French Horn Rebellion put on an amazing show! Avan Lava blew us away with their colorful costumes, crazy light show, and of course, fun music. French Horn Rebellion did the same with their 80's pop disco sound that got the crowd dancing and singing. MOSCOT fans were lucky enough to have our friends, Savoir Adore, back as part of FHR's band!

French Horn Rebellion's song, "This Moment" was the anthem of the night - all about sharing a great moment - which is exactly what we all did! We couldn't have ask for a better night of MOSCOT Music!

Last night, Antenna Magazine and Hyundai hosted a bumpin party for the launch of their RE:MIX LAB - a traveling gallery of famous collaborations in fashion - and MOSCOT was psyched to be part of it! The TERRY, from our MOSCOT Originals Collection, was one of the featured collaborations on display. The night was full of cool collaborations and fashion, great music, tasty cocktails, dancing, and even a few cars - yes, cars. A big, big thanks to everyone at Antenna for including MOSCOT and for their ongoing support!

French Horn Rebellion (Robert and David Perlick-Molinari) kicked off 2011 by announcing the US self-release of their debut album, The Infinite Music of French Horn Rebellion. Written, produced and mixed by Robert and David, the album warps together the fabric of dance, electro, rock and funk. Previous to this release, the Brooklyn-based duo has had an illustrious pedigree; David produced MGMT's indie release Time to Pretend EP for Cantora Records, and French Horn Rebellion’s previous single “Up All Night” scored Record of the Week on BBC Radio 1 and a slot on the influential Kitsuné Maison compilation series. Pitchfork praised the track as, “irresistible, panting synth-pop, with fat new wave key tones and ecstatic vocals.”  The band has also toured with Yelle across the US, and remixed tracks from the likes of MEN, Two Door Cinema Club, OMD and Alex Winston.

Born in 2010 in New York City, AVAN LAVA is the union of singer T.C. (Tom Hennes), musician/producer Le Chev (Michael Laine Cheever), and drummer Ian Pai. After touring playing bass and DJ’ing with Fischerspooner on their “Entertainment” tour, Le Chev began collaborating with T.C., a singer with a performance background in NYC, to create the debut release by AVAN LAVA, an EP entitled “Vapors”. Prior to the first EP’s completion, the record was picked up by Faux Pyre Records, and the duo was flown to Los Angeles for mixing and mastering sessions at the prestigious Infrasonic Sound Studio with audio wizard Pete Lyman (The Mars Volta, Bloc Party). During the initial pre-production sessions for AVAN LAVA’s second release, tentatively titled “Fantasy”, the duo called on Ian Pai, also of Fischerspooner, and to collaborate on the upcoming album and he soon became a fixture in the group. AVAN LAVA is planning its second release in January 2012.
