A friendly optician from the original Orchard Street Shop, it was always Seymour’s mission to provide the proper fitting frame on even the smallest of punims…his name was ‘see more,’ after all! Big and bold with exaggerated paddle temples, Poppy Joel used to put The KEPPE in our Orchard Street Shop window to grab people's attention as they strolled by. Two generations later, MOSCOT product designer, and Poppy Joel's grandson, Zack brings The KEPPE back to our Shop windows. We can't help ourselves...we love the attention.

A Ratner’s regular, 2nd Generation Sol would often pop over for a bite at his favorite eatery. Thanks to Genevieve—the colorful hostess in colorful glasses—Sol always left the diner with a belly full of blintzes (and a few satisfied GREPS!) ready to take on the afternoon rush. Ezra ran the busiest fruit stand in the Essex Street Market, but that didn't stop his daily visits to GREAT Grandpa Sol to trade crisp Granny Smith apples for the pair of eyeglasses he coveted. It took quite a few bushels for Ezra to pay for these classic, WWII era spectacles, but eventually he took care of his debt, while simultaneously proving that an apple a day does not, in all cases, keep the doctor away.
